Wheal Jane Mine, Kea, Cornwall.

A small but very pretty double terminated quartz crystal with a smoky/amethystine tinge to the terminations. The crystal has a waist band of staggered clear quartz crystals running in parallel lines.

The specimen was in decomposing marcasite and a long time in an ultrasonic bath cleaned it up nicely. I have seen just a few of these quartz floaters from wheal Jane Mine in the past but not one as nice and aesthetic as this specimen.
