River Hayle, St. Earth, Cornwall.

A hand made wood box containing 62 grams of rounded alluvial cassiterite to 6mm from the dredger that worked the River Hayle at the area near to St. Earth during the early 1900s this particular sample is dated 1912. The river was reworked during the second world war.

An exceptionally rare locality specimen from the collection of WP Simmonds who was the curator of the RGSC Penzance in the early 1900s.
